Region Free Dvd Players

!±8± Region Free Dvd Players

You have got with you that British TV series DVD that you have been after for ages. Now you are back home in USA. You are waiting impatiently to put it in your DVD player and watch the series. Something wrong! The only thing that you can see is the display, "Wrong Region" or words to that effect. You are quite amazed to see that. Is your DVD player not working? Or is the DVD faulty? Which one is it? The box, in which the DVD came in, says that the disc is Region Free, which would mean that it is meant for Region 0 or All Region. Doesn't it mean that the DVD will play anywhere in the world? Well, good news is, that there is nothing wrong with your DVD player or the DVD disc. The bad news id that you are experiencing the wonderful world of DVD Region Coding or Region Locking as sometimes termed as. Are you asking me, what is DVD Region Coding and why it is needed?

A Region Free, Region Free, Region Zero or All Region disc is supposed to play on any Region Locked player, but there is that question of compatibility between PAL and NTSC video formats. For example, suppose you got a Region Free DVD from UK and try to play it in a US NTSC player. The DVD will not play, since the disc is in PAL video format. There is a misconception that since the DVD is based on digital format, it matters less if your player plays NTSC or PAL. All digital video formats are based on either PAL or NTSC video systems.

But what are PAL and NTSC video systems? Let me briefly explain.

Countries all over the world use one of the three main TV broadcast standards. These three standards are - PAL NTSC and SECAM. But these three standards are incomplete with the other. Take for example the Region Free DVD, which you purchased in UK. It did not play correctly on a US NTSC DVD player because the DVD is in PAL video format. That misconception that I mentioned somewhere in my discussion above, does not hold good and as I said, all digital video formats, including DVD are still based on the PAL or NTSC video systems.

Let me briefly outline PAL and NTSC systems for a better understanding.

The first ever colour broadcast came to USA in 1953. This was based on NTSC - National Television System Committee standard. NTSC is being used by many countries in the American continent and as well as in Asia too, in countries including Japan. NTSC runs on 525 lines/frame.

Phase Alternating Line (PAL) system was introduced in early 1960s and was available in most European countries except France. PAL utilises a wider chanel-bandwidth than NTSC, which provides a better picture quality. This system runs on 625 lines/frame.

Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential Colour with Memory (SECAM) standard was introduced in early 1960s and was implemented in France. SECAM transmits colour information sequentially but uses the same bandwidth as PAL. The standard runs on 625 lines/frame.

For a better understanding the following is presented:

NTSC Standard

SYSTEM NTSC M

Lines/Field 525/60

Horizontal Frequency 15.734 kHz

Vertical Frequency 60 Hz

Video Bandwidth 4.2 MHz

Sound Carrier 4.5 MHz

PAL Standard

SYSTEM PAL

B,G,H PAL

I PAL

D PAL

M PAL

Colour Sub-carrier Frequency 4.433618 MHz 4.433618 MHz 4.433618 MHz 3.582056 MHz 3.575611 MHz

Video Bandwidth 5.0 MHz 5.5 MHz 6.0 MHz 4.2 MHz 4.2 MHz

Sound Carrier 5.5 MHz 6.0 MHz 6.5 MHz 4.5 MHz 4.5 MHz

Horizontal Frequency 15.625 kHz 15.625 kHz

Vertical Frequency 50 Hz 50 Hz

Video Bandwidth 5.0 MHz 6.0 MHz

Sound Carrier 5.5 MHz 6.5 MHz

Similar to multi-system VCRs, DVD players will not convert video standards. A PAL standard DVD player will not accept a DVD disc formatted in SECAM.

There is a point to consider to end your despair. If you have a multi-system TV, which is able to receive both PAL and NTSC video signals, you can very well watch that DVD you got from UK. You could also use a converter, which would convert a PAL into NTSC and vice-versa. In that way you can watch that DVD from UK, played on a standard NTSC TV, with converter doing all the processing for you. You could very well purchase a Region Free DVD Player, also known as a Multi Region DVD Player or a Code Free DVD Player, with a built in video standards converter.

The so called regions, that we hear so much about when buying a DVD disc or a player, are catagorised in the following way:

1. Region 1 - The U.S., U.S. territories and Canada

2. Region 2 - Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland

3. Region 3 - Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong

4. Region 4 - Mexico, South America, Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean

5. Region 5 - Russia (okay, former Russia), Eastern Europe, India, most of Africa, North Korea, Mongolia

6. Region 6 - China

In a conventional manner, statistics say that, people in Region 1 get to see the DVD first. Region 2 will have to wait another 6 months and Region 3 people will have a year to see their favorite movie on DVD.

The DVD has brought home entertainment to life. Players and movie DVD discs have been selling like hot cakes through-out the world as prices tumble for both the products. The concept of the Home Theater comes along, with the superior quality of audio visual presented by the DVD. Entire rooms in many homes are kept reserved just for the home theater.. However, with this success of DVD, comes that dirty little secret: Region Coding or the Region Lock.

Why this coding, you might want to know. Well, what they tell us is it is the way that they wish to protect the copyright. However, another aspect of this Region Coding is surfacing lately. It is perhaps because of price fixing of the DVDs at different regions.

According to many views, code enforcement is a violation under WTO free trade agreement, which reflects at the competition law. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has taken a serious view to this coding and warned that such coding may violate the Trade Practices Act. A similar ruling has been done by the government of New Zealand. Therefore in practice, the DVD players sold in their countries have to be of Region 0. The Region 0 DVD players are required to incorporate Region 1 to 6 simultaneously, there-by providing the capability to plat any disc, no matter what region it belongs to.

Code Free DVD VCR PAL NTSC Combo

!±8± Code Free DVD VCR PAL NTSC Combo

A code free DVD VCR Combo is a three-in-one device and combines DVD, VCR, and MP3 player in one, saving both time and space. You will not have to plug on different gadgets for different purposes like viewing a movie, listening to a music etc. The added advantage is that the combo costs less than the combined prices of all the gadgets taken together. Moreover, there is no standard specification barrier here. With a code free DVD VCR combo you can play video tapes, DVDs and CDs procured from anywhere in the world. It means even if you are using NTSC as your standard, which is a normal practice in the United States, you can play DVDs using PAL or SECAM as their standards. This would not have been possible in your earlier gadgets of DVD players or VCRs.

The system has many new features, not featured in ordinary TVs, DVD players or VCRs available in the market. Some of the main features are:

o It can play any DVD, VCD, Audio CD, and VHS tapes.

o Multitasking is possible since you can watch a DVD while recording a TV program on the VCR.

o Automatic clock set up and channel surfing capabilities.

o Buttons for different modes are easy to handle.

o Remote controlled DVD and VCR decks.

o Composite S-Video and output programs for optimization of connectivity and performance.

o If DVD is not copy protected with Macro-vision, it can record DVD to VHS.

o Provides for child lock.

o Advantage of having RF inputs and outputs so that it can connect with all types of new and old TVs.

Apart from these general features of the Combo, the device has certain special features relating to DVD and VCR too.
.
Followings are the features that make the combo all-DVD compatible:

o A 10-bit video digital-analog converter that transforms digital signals to analog signal and vice versa facilitating transmission.

o A 96 KHz with 24-bit source play back system.

o A 27 MHZ advanced digital filter.

o It plays back MP3 files from the CD-ROM.

o During 2x speed playback operation the audio continues without being disturbed.

o Allows DTS enhanced DVDs to be played since it has DTS digital output system installed.

For VCR compatibility, the system provides the following features:

o A Hi-Fi stereo system for maintaining high sound qualities.

o It can playback S-VHS systems better than any other standard resolution.

o Provides for VISS, a VHS Index Search System.

o Provides for Scanning.

o Has a feature for Zero return.

o Allows direct time search and blank search.

o It has four heads for superior slow motion or stop action viewing.

o Consists of 16-event, with one year timer recording.

o Consists of both a time remaining and a real time counter.

Since it is a combo, it normally comes in form of a package. The package contains not only the components but other necessary articles like the warranty and Registration card, user guide, and at times information about other bonus offers. The components in the package includes the DVD-VCR combo, RCA cable for the audio and video connections, Radio Frequency Antenna Cable, a remote control operator, and 1.5V "AA" batteries.

The final part of the set up is purely technical yet no wonders for even a layman. What you have to do is that when all the wires and cables are duly attached to the device, just turn on the device and the in built auto set up will guide you through the rest of the process. However, a few things may not be overlooked as follows:

In the pop up dialog boxes which will guide you through the process of set up, read the instructions and the information carefully, so that you don't put yourself in setting up things you don't really want.
Allow the set up at each stage adequate time to complete its operation.
It will be better if you keep some extra power generation unit available at hand like a small generator or inverter so that in case of sudden power failure, your set up process is not rudely interrupted. An untimely interruption may result in a faulty set up and problems in future.
You can refer to the user manual whenever some doubt arises in your mind. The set up process has also a simultaneous in built help process to which you can refer.

Once everything is in place and set up is complete, you are ready for using your device and watch the show. With your remote you can pause, play at 1/8th to normal speed, and you can also zoom the pictures to 4X size for fine viewing. The playback includes the A-B repeat that allows you to replay the favorite segment of your DVD or CD. There is also a Bookmark feature that allows you to come back to a particular vintage point you like most or you can play the chapters at random. The 'One Touch Recording' feature in the device makes copying the easiest job. However, this feature cannot be controlled with the remote. The feature allows you to record a DVD to a VHS tape. The record speed ranges from Super Slow (SP) to Super Long Play (SLP). Just by pushing the copy button, it is all done. The VCR supports the S-VHS recording and playback. While the ordinary VCR can playback and record only 250 lines of resolution, this combo can support 400 lines of resolution, making a big difference in the picture quality. You can also audio-dub a pre-recorded videocassette from CD, DVD, a microphone, a stereo system or even a tape deck. However, it cannot record in stereo. Moreover, the searching features like Index Marks, Blank Search, and Direct time search makes searching anything possible.

No device is without its limitations. The new combo has its limitations too. You have to go manual while recording a DVD to a VHS tape. There is no facility for stereo recording in S-VHS recording. The operations on MP3 play back are also limited as it cannot read the ID3 tags on the MP3, which allows information such as the title, artist, album, track number, or other information about the file to be stored in the file itself. While displaying the list of recorded songs, it only displays 4 to 8 characters and thus cannot display the whole title. So the track also cannot be seen unless you use the OSD on the TV which will be a somewhat unnecessary consumption of electricity and use of TV when you are listening to music only.

Despite all its limitations, the device is a great invention combining so many features in one unit. The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. And if you overlook the slight inconveniences relating to MP3 players, the device may score full marks from the prospective buyers and users. Technical people might find out flaws but the average user will be happy to use this device. Many leading companies like Samsung, Toshiba, Phillips, Sony, Panasonic, and JVC are in the fray. A wide variety of models in different range of prices are available for a user to choose from.

BLU-RAY and the Ultrahigh-Definition TV of 2012

!±8± BLU-RAY and the Ultrahigh-Definition TV of 2012

Super Hi-vision (Ultrahigh-Definition Wide-Screen System with 4000 Scanning Lines) is the new standard in video viewing.

NHK Science & Technical Research Laboratories has created a new piece of engineering genius in its 8K Television System "Super Hi-vision". This newest imaging technology upon us already in Japan and destined to give screen coverage of the 2012 Olympics on big screens in city centers across Britain. The BBC plans to use the technology, named Super Hi-Vision, just 4 years from now in 2012 but it was developed in Japan in 2005.

Does this incredible new resolution show us that man-machine interfaces with even higher resolutions are possible, and soon? What of true 3D with no glasses, 4D and better and what of BLU-RAY, Violet Ray and Ultra-Violet Ray?

NHK's new image creation uses a video format with 7680 x 4320 pixels (16 times higher than standard Hi-vision, NHK's HDTV system). 4000 scanning lines deliver ultra-clear, realistic three-dimensional images that can be achieved only by ultrahigh-definition technology.

Scanning lines are not visible even when relatively close to the screen. And a wider viewing angle provides a stronger sense of a reality.

The 3-D audio system has 24 speakers dramatically enhancing live presence.
Around the world electronics consumers have been buying the newest high definition TVs and BLU-RAY players to go with them but with this newest high-definition TV Japanese broadcasters and the BBC have finalized a system 33 times more detailed than the best sets currently for sale.

By 2015 NHK hopes to begin test broadcasts of its Super Hi-Vision system, with full-time public broadcasts scheduled for 2025.

Nobuyuki Hiruma, associate director at NHK's laboratories in Tokyo, says that "Super Hi-Vision TV approaches the realism of human vision." I fact it was based on research into human vision.

Super Hi-Vision exists only at NHK's Broadcasting Center in Tokyo, where it is projected on to a 10 meter (yard) by 5.5 meter (yard) screen, with sound coming from 22 multi-layered speakers capable of replicating the sound of a concert hall. 24 discrete channel speakers are the actual technical goal.

Only 20 minutes of Ultrahigh-Definition can be recorded at a time and it must be edited frame by frame. Making a back-up takes engineers an whole night, and after a week they have only enough material for one hour of Super Hi-Vision TV.

Sitting just three meters (yards) from a 450-inch screen, viewers says "sometimes we suffer motion sickness," says Masaru Kanazawa, research engineer on the SHV project.
While such a huge screens would not fit into most living rooms, Kanazawa thinks they soon might anyway.

Hiroyuki Ohira, GM of Pioneer's plasma development center in Yamanashi, is in charge of the same team that, in the 1990s, invented the first high-definition plasma screens. "We are trying to develop a Super Hi-Vision panel to help NHK realize its broadcast plans," he said.

The BBC and NHK often collaborate on program production, most recently on the David Attenborough-narrated documentary Planet Earth which was filmed in high definition and produced a number of new techniques.

November of 2007 NHK strapped its high definition television cameras to a Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency lunar probe to film an "Earth rise" over the moon in Ultrahigh-Definition detail.

To overcome the problem of how to transmit huge amounts of data remains NHK is uses Dirac video compression technology for its Super Hi-Vision testing, this is a BBC technology.

Using large outdoor screens and with the aid of Participate, an EU-funded project promoting public interaction with new technology, BBC engineers are involved in Super Hi-Vision events. "Super Hi-Vision feeds nicely into that and it's definitely a long-term ambition," said Andy Bower, interim controller of the BBC Research and Innovation Centre.

As you how to overcome data storage three dimensional holographic images enable more information to be stored in a much smaller space, preventing information overflow. This technology comes from Michael E. Thomas owner of Colossal Storage Corporation of Fremont California.

Also called Volume Holographic Optical Storage Nanotechnology the Volume (3 D) Holographic Optical Drive technology plans to push future storage densities of optical mass storage over 40,000 Terabits/cu.cm. To compare with magnetic hard drives of today which are around at 60 gigabits one can understand that Mr. Thomas' optically assisted drives at 45 gigabits/sq. in. and contact recording AFM, STM, SPM or SFM, i.e. atomic force microscope and their derivatives, at about 300 gigabits/sq.in mean a storage capacity far beyond what current available methods provide.

A BLU-RAY player of the future might use tiny 3.5" discs based on 3 D Volume Holographic Mass Data Storage using the Einstein/Planck Theory of Energy Quantum Electrons to control molecular properties by an atom's electron movement/displacement.

Using Ultraviolet/Blue laser diodes with Voltage transducer to write, new definitions of term include photon/laser induced electrical field poling and UV/Blue laser diode and Nanooptical transistors or Nanofloating gates Mos Fet to read.

To be created for this device are ferroelectric perovskite's dipole dielectrics giving properties allowing write, erase and storage states in nanocrystal memories. A Semiconductor Integrated Optical Read / Write Head will play back the data.

Having an almost infinite storage persistence of data fast read/write control of ferroelectric molecules will allow increasing areal densities and data transfer rates of data between the random mass storage device to system requirements and this will increase mass storage bandwidth needs.

For the new BLU-RAY ULTRA-VIOLET RAY players of tomorrow a transmission speed of extraordinary magnitude will be needed to send movies over the internet.

Super Hi-Vision live relay over IP

On December 31, 2006 a global first happened when a Super Hi-Vision feed of the 57th Kohaku Uta Gassen (NHK's annual "Red & White Song Battle" which is the most-watched TV event of the year in Japan) was relayed long-distance over an IP network from the Tokyo venue and displayed on a giant 450-inch screen in an Osaka studio. There, members of the public enjoyed ultra-realistic picture and sound reproduction equivalent to a VIP seat at the actual live event.

Using a codec developed by NHK for efficient transmission and broadcast of Super Hi-Vision signals the encoder compresses the video signal from approximately 24Gbps down to 180-600Mbps and the audio from 28Mbps to 7-28Mbps. The reduced bit rate makes it possible to transmit the signal and to record even an event of long duration like Kohaku Uta Gassen.

A live viewing at the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan (Expo 2005 Aichi) was held from March to September 2005 on the theme "Wisdom of Nature". At NHK booth, Super Hi-vision images were displayed on a 600-inch screen. With about 8,000 visitors each day, for six months some 1,560,000 people have seen these images and enjoyed crystal-clear ultrahigh-definition wide-screen system on the big screen.

For the first time in history a live-relay optical transmission of Super Hi-Vision succeeded in 2 November, 2007. The transmission was between Kamogawa of Chiba prefecture and NHK Science & Technical Research Laboratories. Kamogawa is famous for Kamogawa Sea World aquarium and about 260 km away from NHK Labs.

The long-haul optical transmission of uncompressed video and audio signals by using DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technique was a groundbreaking moment.

And so your BLU-RAY player of the future might be in Ultra-Violet or it could come strictly as a download from a new Super-Pipe Internet IV right into your mind.

Stand back, the Future is already Old.

Blu-Ray, DVD And Multi-Region, Codefree, Region Free Variations And Super-Human Vision

!±8± Blu-Ray, DVD And Multi-Region, Codefree, Region Free Variations And Super-Human Vision

Becomes quite complicated when you try to describe the differences between systems and transmission systems for video, so stick with which video systems found in VCRs, camcorders, DVD and Blu-Ray, etc.

These are the basic standards and none are compatible with each other. Sometimes the A / C Hertz are 50 MHz (220-volt countries) and, sometimes, 60MHz (110-volt countries) and that changes the results of the scan of an electron tube or plasma, etc. LVD 60MHz, used in the U.S.This is the most soft, almost no flicker. With the double line and quad-double (100 and 220 MHz and then 200 and 440 MHz).

Line doubling actually linked the image in a single scan, which shows the entire structure and doubling again increases the scan lines to provide a finer resolution and there a better feeling for the reality to the human eye. Technically, the original structure with two fields and creates a progressive scan (single non-interlacedFrame) output. This produces a high resolution image is bright and smooth.

1365x1024, 720p, 1080i, 852x480, 1024x1024, 1024x768 and 1365x768 and above: some third party-line quadruples can can scale resolutions. If the latest technology in video images of the world will see hit, NHK pictures today of more than 6000 lines, from which a maximum of 1080p.

If you quadruple-line image like the one that reaches the mind can not know when it is connected to startdirectly into the motherboard of the future. Perhaps an expansion and improvement of human vision are needed in the order of 1,000 eyes, 360-degree views of both sides in the longitudinal direction and 100 million lines of resolution so far surpassed all human capacity today.

Go to PAL-NTSC for a moment.

These video systems for many because of incompatible standards, such as the electric Hertz, because of economic and even political reasons (for example, have been created, a country has notyour TV from another country, citizens are seen nearby, so they are not "ideas" to get!

With the advent of the DVD producers in Hollywood have decided to exploit the latest advances of electronic technology in this new step forward to better market their films.

For films released in the VHS versions, but in 5-6 different non-competition systems and the release of films around the world could be staggered as very useful for the best marketing practices to rakepossible from each country. A film in April, published in the United States had until the right time in South America and the idea of man in Argentina (PAL-N) was able to buy the film from an American retailer released a plan nearly useless when the 'Argentina will not have no TV and VCR to play the right system and with the images. NTSC and PAL-N, displayed properly on systems not only wrong, the speed of recording and reproduction are different. This means an NTSCTo see a movie on a PAL or other standards usually in black and white to have terrible problems of vertical scrolling, horizontal have a slope on top of the image and the wrong speed, so the voices too fast or too slow were. It 'a mess!

Until the Japanese VCR (and Sony BETA) leaders came up with multi-system VCR!

Most could only play tapes of different standards, but to see them you need a TV that was good TV or multi system 2, oreven three of each respective system, that you were out of the VCR.

To remedy this, that the purchase was a multi-system TV Panasonic AG-W1 model with unbelievable that play an integrated digital converters, may absorb and convert to / from all over the world, five current systems. Was $ 4,000, but it was a great device excellent results, though not for broadcasting purposes.

Many people who buy the AGW-1 (and later their descendants WEL-2 andAGW-3 through the purchase of a Digital Planet Omni Tenlab converter systems for a fraction of the cost of AGW-1 and the use of a multi-system VCR.) In this way, the image quality is the same or better and when the price to the consumer.

Soon came with the much cheaper AIWA MX-1 converting multisystem VCR, not a digital type, but use the analog conversion methods are much worse, then Samsung, GoVideo and a few others. Samsung was the actual PanasonicWEL-1 and 2 and under its own brand, have come up with a variety of models such as the SV-3000W, SV 5000S, SV-7000W (with the only French SECAM-L tuner built in).

Planet Omni has some of the Panasonic, Aiwa and Samsung for sale. No one has for 2-3 years and the death of the VCR will never be produced again made. People all over the world with old movies should check whether you can burn them to DVD, the converters are also from PAL to NTSC or NTSCPAL. All countries with any system, but the two find that their tapes can be converted to PAL, and is a perfect display on television, even if the TV is not necessarily PAL.

People can use in a surface-to-NTSC conversion services, such as Planet Omni tapes or DVDs and convert PAL to NTSC or vice versa, rather than buying PAL-NTSC-DVD (it does) and a converter TENLAB.

Because Hollywood producers were OK with the world's most incompatible VHS video standardIt 'was a new problem with DVD movies.

Since all PAL SECAM countries are also countries as far as their televisions will go multi-system and the same for PAL-M (Brazil) and PAL-N (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) countries, this means that films on DVD just yet either NTSC or PAL to be and could be seen all over the world.

That was not very good for Hollywood directors, though, because too many countries could buy the discs from another country and watch movies directly from their first release on CDsometimes anticipated official release films in cinemas. This meant that a citizen of a country like Italy, PAL was able to buy a new film from New Zealand (PAL) source and see the film (with subtitles if necessary), perhaps months, before the film was actually released in theaters or on DVD in Italy. This violates the natural markets of established theater owners and retailers in Italy.

In general, if a European country is a film on DVD, evenat the same time in other euro area countries, but not always. But then a person speaking English in Australia could buy the film from a source in English on the English and it's PAL TV.

Not very good for business and bean counters.

So a new technology in every Hollywood film from various countries around the world sent embedded. This is called the region code.

They divided the world as best they could in six regions on the release filmProtocols.

These regional codes are integrated both the DVD player and DVD-Video discs.
6 regions, 2 video standard (PAL-NTSC), things pretty complicated.

For example, Europe is PAL and Region 2, but Japan is NTSC REGION 2 yet!
This means that Japan would play a DVD on a DVD player in Japan, but is fine, although it is REGION 2, should not have to play a European PAL TV, even if you have the Japanese DVD players in Europe, has raised the voltage of 100Vto 240 and then tried to play it. The disc should run, the player could play, but the TV can not show ... unless the TV was also a multi-NTSC TV.

So how do you get these video standards and regional codes?

The invention of the REGION FREE DVD player (also known as free code, code free, zone free, all zones, universal throughout the region, etc..) But this is against the law and how can you do? What does it mean?

It is permitted by a license agreement, no manufacturer of DVD playersa region free player. Everyone must be committed to a particular region. It can be either PAL or NTSC, but the region code should be specific to a region. The U.S. is Region 1 ... and here are all:

Region codes and countries

Region Code

0 informal term for "the whole world." Region 0 is not an official institution, the discs that bear the symbol 0 or the region have no flags or region 1-6 flags set.

1 Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, United States of America and the United StatesAreas

2 of the European Union, Albania, Andorra, Bahrain, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Faroe Islands, French Guyana, Georgia, Greenland, Guernsey, Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Isle of Man, Israel, Japan, Jersey, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Oman, Qatar, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, South Africa, Swaziland, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates , the State of Vatican City, Yemen

3 South-East Asia,Hong Kong, Macao, South Korea, Taiwan

4 Caribbean, Central America, Oceania, South America (except French Guiana), Mexico

5 African countries not explicitly mentioned in other regions, including the Indian subcontinent, the countries of the former Soviet Union, Belarus, Mongolia, North Korea

6 People's Republic of China (except Hong Kong and Macao)

7 Reserved for future use (found in use protected screener copies of MPAA-related DVDs and "media copies" of pre-releasesAsia)

8-seat organizations, such as airplanes, cruise ships, etc. [1]
All Regions All the discs are all 8 flags set so that the disc can be played on any player in any room.

All Regions All the discs are all 8 flags set so that the disc can be played on any player in any room.

So it's against the law to change and make a DVD CODE FREE?

No, not at all. PLANET OMNI sold many places as they have for years. The quality of the changerarely varies, usually is a perfect model so that each play DVD movies, but there will be a PAL-NTSC TV or a video converter to display both PAL and NTSC DVD movies.

Remember that a movie on DVD not a DVD-R or DVD + R, although it may have a movie that has been registered.

Most DVD players code free play most DVD-R and DVD-RW, DVD + R and DVD + RW discs are homemade.

99% also play regular music CDs for playback, and many others play a variety ofFormats like MP3, WMA, DVD-Video, Video CD, DVD-Audio, SACD, CD, audio CD-R and CD-RW, WMA, JPEG, JPEG and JPEG and Kodak.

Thus, a REGION FREE DVD players play all regions and both PAL and NTSC discs, which is a known type of DVD movies on earth, but what if you do not have a PAL or NTSC video standards converter

Besides the fact that you can buy these items, but also CONVERTING DVD player region free.

Some may convert a DVD movie on NTSC and PAL can do a little 'that a disk drive and U.S. NTSC to PAL.

And some can do both, but if you ever get a PAL-NTSC TV you can turn off the conversion and see everything, all DVD movies from all countries in all standard on every TV set in the original image quality. Here too the online stores such as Planet Omni this type.

This free code, players can also use the conversion of the most modern equipment with the latest bells and whistles and certainly things such as stereo DTS, Dolby willDigital, HDMI and DVI output, 5.1 and higher stereo channel output, Progressive scan and so forth.

But now let's consider what this means as regards the Blu-Ray Disc players that are Multi-region.

As HD DVD is dead as a Hi-Def format we consider that Blu-Ray Disc players and movies on Blu-Ray discs are here to stay until the next leap into the future hits us which may happen around 2012 with the entry of the latest 6,000 Line Super-Hi Definition TVs, some 6 x more realistic and 3D appearing than Blu-Ray and 1080P technology.

As with DVD region Blu-Ray discs and players also have regions, called Region A, B and C.
These are non-compatible regions which include PAL-SECAM-NTSC and all other systems.
The beauty of a Region A or B Blu-Ray disc when played in a Multi-region Blu-Ray disc player via the HDMI output (that is a single cable combining all audio and video signals) is that the TV doesn't have to be Pal-NTSC-Secam or anything specific at all. As long as the TV has an HDMI input all Blu-Ray Disc movies from Regions A and B will play in their full glory and, depending on the maximum resolution possible of each TV, in the highest quality possible. Pal and NTSC no longer exist in the HDMI world, the problems of Hertz, government controls and so forth, Gone with the Wind!

However, there are still Regions A, B and C.

For the Hollywood production companies these 3 Regions are still important, but not as once they were.

Do know that a Blu-Ray Disc movie output thru the regular component, S-Video or composite (A/V RCA cables) still requite the proper standard to view movies with, PAL for a PAL disc and NTSC for an NTSC disc. But in TVs there are no regions so any PAL-NTSC TV can display any PAL or NTSC DVD.

In the case of the Sony BDP-S300 multi-region version available now (110 volt version) you can pop in any Blu-Ray Disc movie from the A and B countries seen below and on any TV with an HDMI input you can see the entirety of any library.

The Sony BDP-S300 multi-region player has been highlyrated by many including reviews such as: "I am delighted with my Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc Player. It has excellent audio and visual definition. The crystalline clarity of 1080p Blu-ray Disc movies and DVD upscaling brings your DVDs to the highest resolution possible. Purchase this product and you will not be disappointed."

The Blu-Ray Disc Regions are as seen here:

A/North America, Central America, South America, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia.

B/Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, plus all of Oceania.

C/India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mainland China, Pakistan, Russia, Central, and South Asia.
The future of Blu-Ray Disc type technology?

In January 2007, Hitachi previewed a 100 GB Blu-ray Disc, which has four layers containing 25 GB each. Unlike TDK and Panasonic's 100 GB discs, they Hitachi claims this disc is readable on a standard Blu-ray Disc drive a firmware update is the only requirement to make it readable to current players and drives.

Many other iterations and variations of the Blu-Ray milieu are popping up including such novel notions as BD9 / BD5 Blu-ray Disc, AVCREC, Blu-ray Disc recordable, HD DVD/Blu-ray Disc hybrid discs, HD VMD/Versatile Multilayer Disc (new low-profile competitor) AVCHD, Digital Multilayer Disk - the successor technology to Fluorescent Multilayer Disc, Enhanced Versatile Disc (EVD), Forward Versatile Disc (FVD) - Taiwanese backed red laser format, Fluorescent Multilayer Disc, Holographic Versatile Disc - standards with 200 and 300 GB storage are under development 3D optical data storage - a next-generation technology expected to provide TB-capacity discs, Protein-coated disc, Tapestry Media, Ultra Density Optical LS-R - a "layer selection" technology allowing the stacking of very large numbers of DVD-like data layers in a single disc, Professional Disc for DATA (PDD or ProDATA) and much more.

Will there still be Regions? Who knows but there will always be a better genius to overcome them.

Blu-Ray Disc Player: Excellent picture quality on Blu-ray and DVD, DVD upscaling to 1080p, HDMI output. Right off bat Everyone in the room noticed the image quality of Blu-Ray Disc Player S300, it is always reassuring when the results are out of the box is at least on par with expectations and exceeded, of course, a nice bonus.

The Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc is an important product, the Blu-ray some much needed traction in the convenient playerCategory. Combine that with the latest news from Blockbuster rental power that it is building Blu-ray titles in stores (at the expense of HD DVD, in most cases), and the BDP-S300 looks like a breeze.

HQV Benchmark Results: The BDP-S300 Blu-ray Disc has scored very well with the standard definition HQV benchmark disc, went most of the tests with flying colors and was faster in the 3:2 cadence test many of the film blocked The DVD and BD / HD testedrecently.

And the remote is good, controls both the player and a television.
Unlike the first generation of Sony BDP-S1 (and Pioneer Elite BDP-HD1), the BDP-S300 will play back CDs, either from its analog audio outputs or one of its digital audio outputs, including HDMI.

Once loaded and running, the BDP-S300 performed like a gold medal. The best Blu-ray1080p/60 and 1080p/24 or discs looked sensational. Set up and designed for those with 720p displays or displays that accept 1080p inputs, players will also be nice if an output is 720p or 1080i.
The Sony BDP-S300 Multi Region Blu-Ray is a winner
The Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray is good, with excellent playback quality from Blu-ray discs, upconversion, and solid standard-definition DVDs for your collection legacy.

Description: Everyone willHe marvels at the breathtaking sound and picture quality of this second generation of Blu-ray Disc. With remarkable features and versatile performance, the BDP-S300 is an extraordinary value.

BDP-S300 Strengths: Image quality

Strengths: great picture and excellent sound quality

Weaknesses: None for me

Summary: I bought this Blu-Ray player last July to watch the film and has worked flawlessly for me from day one. I am not an image viewer for images in use (which has)I still play all the games on some discs. I wanted a Blu-Ray that gives me full HD video and great sound. The audio sounds fine on my surround sound system when I use it. Sometimes just the TV speakers and the sound is very good. If you are interested in a Blu-ray player with exceptional picture and sound quality this player is for you.

Strengths: Plays Blu-Ray DVD DVD double standard. Full 1080p output. Good selection of audio-Outputs.

Strengths: Great picture when playing Blu-ray Disc. Connect all audio connections at a time, except Coax, and all worked automatically ... Great sound.

While the Sony BDP-S300 is an entry level Blu-ray, the entry-level, not necessarily cheap. You will be a capable high-definition video player. VD is weak at best and only decodes Dolby Digital Plus If you already have an upconverting DVD player can not decode Dolby TrueHD on Carevariety of formats and DTS HD, this may be the Blu-ray for you.

Summary: Sony finally has its second generation Blu-ray in half the original price of the original! The BDP-S300 looks like a bargain compared to their previous BDP-S1.

In addition to the cost-benefit, you get more with this player. Unlike its predecessor, the S300 can also play CDs on the DVD. Furthermore, it seems to load a bit 'faster than its predecessor.

Allin all, the BDP-S300 delivers what it promises.

Pass the new BDP-S300 model 1920, x 1080p (progressive) high definition video, currently the highest resolution high-definition signal available through (TM) HDMI port. The player supports various video formats, including MPEG2, MPEG4-AVC and VC1.

For those of an HDTV set without HDMI, analog component output for your 1080i (interlaced) is available as well.

The new BD player is compatible with most standard DVDsand the added feature of 1080p upscaling through HDMI to 1080p capable HDTVs are, improving the picture quality of existing DVD libraries.

Watch PIRATES PIRATES I and II, I found the picture comes alive and without artifacts. My handset provides a 5.1 DD, so I'm not able to take advantage of uncompressed PCM codec. However, the Dolby Digital soundtrack was very impressive. All in all just played a very good price.

This is an excellent BDPlayer for under $ 500! The picture quality is awesome!
Excellent quality of upscaling for DVD movies

Below is mentioned, that can not be region free. It is only partially true. A California company already sells this model in a multi-region (multi-region) version. You can, each player is region A and B Blu-ray Disc and shows on any TV with HDMI input, regardless of the standard video (PAL-SECAM-NTSC, etc.)

It is a device that we buy for ourselves, if it were not for the factwe do not region free, because we have a huge collection of DVD movies from Regions 1 and 4. If you plan on only region-free ("Region 0") or a region-1 discs then this unit is a great choice, especially because of their cost / benefit: great price and exceptional image quality for DVD - if the relative slowness of this device does not interfere.

I have not gone through all the bells and whistles yet, but the picture quality just blew me. Even my wife who actuallyWhat is high definition, all ', "was very impressed. We saw Pirates / Caribbean 2 and I could not believe the quality.

Pros: Excellent image quality, cheap for a Blu-ray offers HDMI upscaling to 1080p

Anyone looking for great pleasure movies on Blu-ray Disc and experience to a reasonable start-up costs, it is recommended to control Sony BDP-S300.

This is a great Blu-ray DVD. Enhances regular DVD viewing and presentationBlu-ray 1080p (if you have a 1080p HDTV).

The quality of picture and sound is incredible!

Very good product for the money. It's always worth, if you want to get the best picture of your great widescreen HDTV.

"I have this Blu-ray about 2 weeks of ownership. I mean the first Blu-ray discs purchased during the weekend and I was far from the image that produces and 1080p full blown digital sound is impressive. Be sure to buy an HDMI cable for this player and youwill not be disappointed. It will also upconvert standard DVDs to HD quality. "

They have this unit for a week and love it. Purchased has been great for my husband Appliance bestbuys the price of units of great and I would definitely say buy these if they want a good Blu-ray, without emptying your wallet.

Samsung BD-P1400 Reviews of the multi-region Blu-Ray Disc Player

!±8± Samsung BD-P1400 Reviews of the multi-region Blu-Ray Disc Player

Region Code Areas

The multi-region version plays all REGION A and B Blu-Ray Disc on any TV with HDMI input.

A/1North America, Central America, South America, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

B/2Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, and all of Oceania.

C/3India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Pakistan, Russia, Central and South Asia.

Reviews of BLU-RAYBD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player (there are no differences in the basic specifications for the
A version of the region and region A and B version of multi-region, so that all grants are available for both versions.):

There is good: Excellent image quality on Blu-ray, great soundtrack support with onboard decoding of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution and bitstream output for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, relatively low price for other standalone Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player overs; Ethernet port for firmware upgrade.
MDOJ,

My BD-P1400 has arrived late last night! The firmware was updated last night via the Internet to download and burn a CD. First impressions:

Video - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Audio - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: There is no difference in picture quality or sound, or any other kind of difference, in the USA Region A version of the multi-regionRegion A and B version of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc.

I tried a normal DVD and BRD so far and am very satisfied. Load
The times are very acceptable. No negatives from me on this unit so far. Will
Report later when I get some of BRD seems problematic.

The Samsung BD-P1400 is a classic style. The front of the car is all shiny black, with a thin strip of silver on the bottom.

Got my Samsung BD-P1400 last night and boy have beenexcited! Before this review, I would say this is the first and only Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray, which I had and could not do some comparisons you are looking for is to start. If I do not, let me know! I would also say that they are not on the latest firmware, but as my modem can not be updated in near a television.

Image

Excellent, duh ...... inky blacks, great contrast, detail, everything you expect from Blue

Design: Beautiful looking BD-P1400 Blu-RayDisc, better yet, I think. Face is very open, not cluttered, and the rocks gloss piano. Good remote control.
Loading times wonderful. I have 5 movies so far, and all loaded in approx. 15 seconds. Then there was the new F4 Silver Surfer .... This is a BD + titles from Fox and many complain of their time to recharge. The BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player gave me no problem, and the multi-region version from Planet Omni will be even more incredible. Let me say once again that thisout of the box, no firmware update yet!

FYI: There is no difference in picture quality or sound, or any other kind of difference, in the USA Region A version of the Multi-region version A and B of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc.
Sound

I have not played with the sound a lot when I was not even my Onkyo TX-SR705. I noticed that there is an option to set up your speakers from small to large 5.1-in analog outs. There are other threads and human relationsalways full DTS-MA bitstreams from the BD-P1400 Blu-ray discs (after firmware update) in other threads and forums. I am always eager to try this!

More

The rest of the stuff is pretty standard. 128x max forward position in the same unit again after the film out, pretty good response time of remote keys, etc.

All in all, this is a dynamite BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc. With the firmware update, is this guy doing something thata Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc can expect Player now!

In addition to Blu-ray discs allows the Samsung BD-P1400 plays DVDs and CDs in standard definition.

FYI: There is no difference in picture quality or sound, or any other kind of difference, in the USA Region A version of the Multi-region version A and B of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc.

The BD-P1400 PBD-high-resolution soundtrack support is excellent. It has onboard decoding for Dolby Digital Plus,Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution, which means it can produce these soundtracks either in PCM format via the HDMI or analog outputs. For receivers, the BD-P1400 also offers bitstream output for high-resolution soundtracks. So if you have a receiver with a recent board Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, you can use the audio output on BD-P1400 HDMI in encoded bitstream format - just let your receiver does not decode, but the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray DiscPlayer.

There should be absolutely no difference in sound quality if the receiver is decoding or BD-P1400 Blu-ray decode, but some AV fans love it, the "Dolby TrueHD" light on their new receiver. If you have a code reader to freely convert DVD for $ 79.95 and must Planet Omni, which has come with two guarantees. So far I am very satisfied with this purchase. I was not sure if the right deal because of the negative reviews I've read, but boughtin any case.

I really do not know why people get upset when it only takes two minutes to play. I've rented several times, with Blu-Ray from Netflix with no problems. I'm still waiting for free on eight films.

Connectivity is also solid. There's an HDMI port with which both 1080p video and audio signals in high resolution.

For analog high-definition video, there is a component video output (limited to 1080i), and there is an S-video output and aOutput composite standard-def output. (Like all BD-P1400 Blu-ray, there is no way of upscaling DVD component video). On the audio side we have the HDMI output of the above, along with 5.1 channel analog outputs, two optical and coaxial digital outputs and analog stereo audio outputs.

Rounding out the connectivity is an Ethernet port, which allows you to upgrade the firmware from the Internet - a feature that is common to HD DVD player, but veryrare in Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc.

FYI: There is no difference in picture quality or sound, or any other kind of difference, in the USA Region A version of the Multi-region version A and B of the Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc.

The BD-P1400 did a good job with the opening credits of Star Trek: Insurrection, demonstrating its ability to pull down 2:03. Next up was Seabiscuit, and the BD-P1400 did a solid job, with the introduction difficult, with little or nojaggies on the black-white photos.

MDOJ,

Just a quick update on the Sammy BD-P1400. I rented from Netflix a few have enjoyed the BR and BD-P1400 - and you? All the techno-mumbo-jumbo aside, for me, this is a great BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc.

I hope that the head guys in charge of this forum is an adhesive to make the BD-P1400 Samsung - Note - Note! watch movies at home here ... not save.

The Samsung is a really goodUnits for the price. The multi-region version from Planet Omni only $ 849.95, and considering that the double motherboard specially imported, a fortune and hard work is a real big deal, IMHO costs need.

I had my device loaded directly plug in my modem with an Ethernet cable (for Samsung directions in the manual) and the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray disc, find the new firmware and burn it without the need of me on the hard drives of Computer ... etc.Very cool.

The Samsung has a great picture and I can update with the current DTS-HD Master Audio (Sony can not be said that twice the price!) To listen.

Think with the pace at which technology moves the self, it is very difficult for a manufacturer to produce these units, market reach and are very "present" with the technology of the new disc, (changed daily), but Samsung has provided me with a device, I just turned in my modem and get an update when youhave at their disposal. I think it's incredible.

A little 'patience and understanding can go a long way. After all ... It was not long ago that if you purchased an electronic component, you could not upgrade at all. I am sure that Samsung have an update soon. I have never in all the hard drives I could run and play as of yet.

Since I have never seen a 1200 in action, can not help you - but the BD-P1400 PQ is excellent, but that's what Blu is - right?

I have tried several BDfrom Netflix and a few standard-def DVDs. All were great. As for the handshake problem, I'm not really sure what it is .... and play for the off, then what ... Why do you want to make a movie anyway?

Large BD-P1400 Blu-Ray, I could not be happier I have the new BD-P1400 last week. returned the 1200 to do so. (Plus had 100 price difference in my favor. PROS = is the image quality is by far the best I've seen, even better than my Panny.

The controls areeasy configuration and exactly the same thing. I do not like, the signal is lost at the beginning of the discs.
AUDIO = I am not in a position of my Onkyo audio features, a few years ago. I did it with an optical digital cable setup, the sound is very good, except for the POPS I get from time to time.

As for the BD potch have about 2 minutes, had no problems, and multi-region version from Planet Omni will be even more incredible, in other BD movies. I noticedthat after the break and hit me in the game is going to hit, the movie would play for a minute and then stop. I had to play, has struck again. A big problem.

Used the ethernet port for downloading new firmware you can not tell the difference. I'm sorry, are not technical, but control is my blue collar. No ?????? s I will answer as best I can

I just Casino Royale - spectacular!

I have a Playstation 3, which has great image quality for both Blu-Ray and upscaling of standard DVDsSince a software upgrade. We use this for our HD TV in the living room. I need another BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc for a second HDTV, we just had hung in our room.

I waited BD-P1400 will be available, because I've already committed to Blu-Ray and wanted the latest technology available. I can not say enough about the quality of sound that offers the BD-P1400 Blu-ray disc is amazing. The picture quality is excellent and the par with the Playstation 3 II'm seriously considering buying a second BD-P1400 to our series because of the excellent sound. Large BD-P1400 Blu-ray disc, especially for the price.

By far the best Blu-ray I've ever tried. Cartoons never see, but now I spend much time watching with my kids.

This is a great Blue Ray BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc. DTS HD MA bitstream at the end. I have this product for about two months in possession and I'm thrilled with it, is really a good deal. I only use my Blu RayPlay BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc for Blu Ray because the sound on a Samsung 5-Disc Receiver is directed. The picture quality is amazing. I own four Blu Ray (which I bought from Amazon for $ 14.99 per piece), the game is all beautiful, no problems, and the multi-region version from Planet Omni will be even more incredible, and a crystal clear picture.

I bought this BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc in December. I hooked with a HDMI cable to a Sony receiver. The Cable BoxComcast is also connected to the receiver. The receiver is a 42-inch Panasonic Plasma 1080P connected. Three HDMI cable, it is.

He perfectly from the start with all Blu-Ray we have tried worked. We get about a week from Netflix. Can I play the third Pirates of the Caribbean Not sure why other critics do not.

The picture quality is stunning, with the Planet Earth. I think I can usually deduct the Panasonic TV.

I have version 1.2 firmwareUpdate in December. I just got the 1.5 firmware update version 5 last February. I downloaded both and create the CD ISO.

For me it's work quickly. So, just wait until his second, so what? Get the DVD while you wait.

Most of the computer to start now require a few minutes. I guess there will never be better, worse, might be slower over time, as these are essentially computers, technology advances and more of these machines and the loadhigh

After I downloaded the firmware update, I checked my settings and I noticed that had been written off. If you have a digital receiver, make sure that the audio bit rate "and is not adjusted PCM, if you want surround sound.

I had no problem, and multi-region version from Planet Omni will be a game even more incredible, no DVDs or CDs regularly. So, if it becomes obsolete, it has replaced my other DVD BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc and improve the quality of regular DVDsput with my other older Samsung 720P.

I do not want to buy someone, why delay the format war. At the time of purchase, and now, so it is obsolete and a shot at the end. At least, while you can enjoy, life is too short. At today's prices, what the hell, it's cheap to buy now before the dollar becomes worthless! You can get an entire home theater system 1080p HDMI-based system with speakers for less than $[...] hours. Thanks China! I have my HDMI cablefrom Planet Omni, $ 19.95 for 2 meters in length, image and sound great!

Before I joined this, I updated the firmware via the Ethernet port. Once that was done I have no problem, and multi-region version from Planet Omni will be even more incredible, installed with the BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc. I was wondering whether to buy or not through some of the negative reviews, but the deal was too good to be for a stand-alone. Those of you who have had problems with the BD-P1400Blu-ray Disc have every right to complain, here's what those costs are.

However, (not BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc Player 2.0 yet), people complain that it is not 1.1 or 2.0 should cease. Nowhere in the description in there is the BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc to be in 1.1. If you want to inform people that are there and updates the BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc player is not able to benefit from going ahead of you, but to say that is horrible and useless, becauseHis 1.0 is misleading. I have a feeling that many people just want the film and rarely use the features of 1.1 (as the picture in picture commentary).

When you yourself, the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc is perfect. If you need a 1.1 BD-P1400 Blu-Ray disks, get the Panasonic. For me it works well for the coming years, while the Blu-ray gets its act together and closes an emerging product. I hope those of you have had, may have problemsreleased and can now use the BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc player like me.

I have no problem, and multi-region version from Planet Omni will be even more incredible, the Samsung BD-P1400-PBD. I put it in, connected to the Internet and started the firmware update utility. After about 20 minutes, the firmware update successfully and I played my first movie with no problems. Every film I've played since has been playing without problems. You can also update the firmwareBurn a CD or if you do not have Internet access, Samsung will be sent to you.

This product works best on Blu-ray, even non-European music in DVD format and on CD-ROM. I have not found a problem, and the multi-region version from Planet Omni will be even more incredible for him. He also does a superior job to clearly show DVDs on my 40 "TV, where would my current DVD BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc only ask to take part of the screen.

A touch of intelligence is undocumented andlook for the right TV input selector, when a disc is inserted. It can be useful if the TV and Samsung.
I have this on Nov.30, 2007, and despite what other critics have said, the BD-P1400 is to start again where you left off. Everything else looks and works great.

I am editing this review to March 13, 2008, to satisfy my experience with the machine. It seems to me, is because a DVD resume where it left off, as the DVD has been produced, NOT on the BD-P1400 Blu-RayDisc Player. Some DVDs like "Lost, Season 3", do not even have a chapter / scene-makers themselves, let alone the opportunity to start again after a stop.

Some DVDs like "3:10 to Yuma," is actually a separate system for marking where to stop, or if you want to be able to return, but still requires a start from scratch. But not to start some new DVD, which he stopped.

My main complaint with Blu-Ray (not necessarily with the BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc in particular) is that it takesALWAYS leave for a DVD, then when you play a DVD, they have done, which is interrupted is restarted, go through the painfully long start-up again.

I learned not to pause a DVD, which caused us to turn off the BD-P1400 Blu-Ray disc after a few minutes. Instead, I think it's about 1 / 8 speed, then when I get back, I can easily return to where I was - much faster than a reboot.

If there is a better RB BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc, also close to this priceArea, I have not heard of. Now that HD DVD is dead, I hope that DVD Maker is your attention focused on the production of DVD BR job easier and faster.

This is a great player. The only problem is to update the firmware. I used to burn CD-R/RW method ... . Burning fast and easy *. ISO image with Nero Burning ROM. The instructions are in support [...]/. I have both HD DVD and Blu-ray. for Blu-ray is better. HD DVD seems upconverted. Read the instructions carefully, that the newBlu-ray "Live Free or Die Hard," contains a note that you know, the software update may be required.

Finally, remember that it is HDMI 1.3 compatible ... so in order to use 1.3 features, you need a cable-TV and the HDMI 1.3 compliant .... the image is large. Buy BD-P1400 Blu-Ray disk and a software update immediately.

I see that there are still many complaints about various Blu-ray and HD-DVD player BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player s does not work, as people hope. Ican say that with this model, I have absolutely no problem.

I'm sure some people write or do not load, but it influenced me. I do not have a single disc, which has not played, has found perfect. What people must remember is that these days everything is like a computer, you need to update it, is part of life today, get over it.

The manufacturer will at some point this clean, probably so, but in the meantime I will enjoynow my film. If you're an early adopter, as I am to be the technology, then all the questions you might run into, is not a big problem. The BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Disc Player is easy to install, easy to play and loads very quickly. Glad I bought and already thinking about a second for different room.

Complete satisfaction with this product. Greatly improved my regular DVD. I was really surprised by this statement, but the Samsung is not as advertised. The Blu-ray audio is very good. I can not waitThis engagement with my new surround system.

This product is money well spent for the viewing pleasure it gives. I recommend this product.

For the price this is a bargain. The video and audio quality here is excellent, the quality and selection of Blu-ray top quality and you can be pretty sure you'll ever make Blu-ray format for you for years to come. One of the best options for a dedicated BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc if you are not interested inPS3.

Before deciding to buy my Samsung BD-P1400 I have studied many of these comments and have been very useful. I also read a special AV Science Board of the BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc. First, highlight all the information and customer reviews on endemic problem that the implementation of the new Blu-Ray standards be done gradually. In addition, functions can be developed, which means that we are all on some occasions when you do not buy Blu-Ray BD-P1400Blu-Ray (not a PS3).

I personally do not have the slightest interest in owning a gaming console. Secondly, many of these reviews describe in detail the type of problems that people, as well as whether and how the problems have been overcome. This criticism fits the data, the second category - the practical problems.

When my BD-P1400 Blu-Ray was the first thing I did, the latest firmware from Samsung has been downloaded.I suggest the method to a CD, but uses a direct network connection, however, the manuals and Web sites provide full instructions. Be sure to confirm that the update was * * successful restart the BD-P1400 Blu-ray disc, reinstalled the firmware CD, and compares the disk version, the version installed.

What problems do I have? In a month to watch Netflix discs do not have a single hiccup, not a single blue screen, no cancellations or play one of the BDSD-DVDs that have had other problems - I * only * perfect performance! Although some of the criticisms are other lenses like the controls inherent in the technology. But my BD-P1400 Blu-ray is fine and my expectations were exceeded. Without hesitation, I give my BD-P1400 Blu-ray Disc five stars.

Pros: My favorite feature by far is the 24 frames per second output mode. Movies appear as they were intended - that the goodor bad - "stupid" and slowly turn in the scenes is significantly improved at 30 frames per second. This alone, in my opinion, justify the relatively small price. [In a direct comparison with my 50 "plasma TV, the video quality of movies from the BD-P1400 at 24 FPS is much better than the slices themselves, if advanced computer graphics card, which has done the same cost!] I like functions and layout of the remote control that doubles to my Samsung TV. Yes, these basicFeatures of Blu-Ray, but they were very competent implemented.

Cons: My one is mean, I have delayed a set-up function, the analog audio and video over the other by an increase can be selected. This would make a perfect lip-sync when using older (ie slower) audio decoder / receiver that is not compatible with HDMI 1.3. However, as far as I know this feature is not available on * any * new Blu-ray BD-P1400 Blu-Ray, because the HDMI1.3 standard includes an automatic synchronization if all components are HDMI 1.3 compatible.

Maybe I was lucky, but there is no need to build a single problem "gameplay" with the last of the latest firmware. Based on this - 5 stars.

We hope that Samsung will continue to support this model for further optimization of the operating firmware if necessary.
Coming soon: "Polaroid" The exceptional quality of the image --- my wife and I say, even for photographs, breathtaking.

The unit is equipped with all necessary connections. I play a Yamaha V-Tuner with 7.1 channels via HDMI, but other connections are available.

There is a simple on-off blue rings and a button to open the drawer to close, which is to on-board control. The remote has several levels of complexity: it is easy to find and use the power, pause-play-rewind-fast/slow controls, which use 99% of the time. The remote also offers movie menu controls (egLanguage), the player controls and menu options to learn how to control other devices --- to use them only if / when you need it. There was absolutely no structure to do --- Plug and play! Great neuro-ergonomics, ie, an intuitive user experience.

In more than three weeks of regular use, we found some problems, but it is unclear if he is the player himself or the new technology. Several times the device is left in "sleep", as if the button is pressed, I had to "play" button to get the filmrestarted. Easily distracted.

What I would like too? Perhaps controls for the AV amp as well, even if the device has buttons for TV, DVD player and amplifier required. Perhaps best of all the backlit keys. This is one heck of a lot, recommended, those found in blue-ray.
Good BluRay DVD. Easy to use. High-definition DVDs look great, but regular DVDs look better.

No problem, have not been found.

Samsung 1400 is significantly better than the ToshibaHD-A3. The BD-P1400 supports not only TrueHD, DTS-HD MA bitstream output via HDMI, but. The A3 can only extract the DTS "core" and can not send bitstream DTS-HD MA out. Only the HD-A35 and the XA2 can do it, but both are much more expensive than this player. The BD-P1400 can also output full 1080p/24 video, while the A3 can only send out 1080i and does not support 24fps.

Both are just slow to load, but the A3 is significantly slower, with almost 2 full minutes of heatingPlayers and video on the monitor / screen. The PS3 has less than 30 seconds btw. The A3 is also very strong, distractedly so special because it is a high-pitched sound that is hard to ignore.

Overall, the BD-P1400 is a Blu-ray high-functioning stand-alone lossless audio (PCM, TrueHD and DTS-HD MA) and supports 1080p/24. I would still recommend the PS3 to $ 400 BD-P1400, but if you really want a stand-alone player, you can not go wrong withThe BD-P1400.
I do not really gamers, but I have a friend who has bought one and loves it.

This is an excellent Blue Ray and I am very happy with my purchase, I recommend this player at all and the price is great.

It did not disappoint in the slightest. I have no problems playing a DVD, Blu-ray or not. I have no firmware downloads to resolve any problems. The BD-P1400 is currently working out of the box. The only thing that comes close to a scam, is thatis slow start up and load.

I am very pleased with this player and I'm happy very happy. I can only say that for me is working perfectly so far, and I recommended it to many of my friends, when we asked for an opinion.

It works wonderfully with my new Samsung plasma ... They have not had any problems other reviewers expressed. Connected to a TV HDMI and Optical Audio Home Theatre ... Stunning PQ and sound.

This Blu-Ray is first class. Easy configuration. This is myHi-Def first player, and I am very happy with my purchase. I work for the latest firmware update in accordance with the instruction manual, and did it well. The player has a modern, sleek, shiny appearance. The sounds are incredible, and the images are too good to be described. Very easy to install and use. I never knew the difference that can be a Blu-ray to make the movie experience. I'm no expert, just a normal mom who bought the Blu-ray for the familyConsider.

I have this player for about a month now ... After the firmware update was fine. Framework amazing, quiet drive, looks good in the rack of entertainment with HD DVD player.

The upconversion is wonderful! Best part is that I can use optical and take advantage of the new audio codecs.

I give this player 5 stars!

Not a single problem. I also have in tight spaces with a 2 "space on the top and open at the back without overheating problems. None of myThe films were blocked or not to play in this situation. I tried Live Free or Die Hard, all Harry Potter, Planet Earth and others. Firmware 1.5 is coming January 24 and it seemed that all problems were fixed with the other. I highly recommend this player to others.

I have a PS3 and Sony S 300 Blu-ray, and they are both excellent Blu-ray. But, I like my new Samsung BD 1400 can decode DTS HD sound, and makes for a wonderful movie to seeExperience. The first thing a new owner should do is go to samusung.com and download the latest firmware update (it is a quick and easy process). There are also references to the manual, you know the update of the player. I have latest Blu-ray from Fox, Disney, Sony, etc., and the image / sound quality is observed perfectly. Very happy with the product.
